Who needs Orb Strikes??

We had an infil go in and find the enemy AMS, and my OS still had 22 mins to charge.

So we jumped in my Liberator and rose to the flight ceiling, we hovered above the waypoint (AMS), and unloaded a payload of 'Tank Busters'.

I'm at work right now, so I can't show you the screenshot of all the kills my bombardier got, but I'll post it when I get home.

He killed 33 people, not including the AMS. Most of the kills were from the AMS sonic boom, which kills everything under the cloaking bubble, and the others were while I was lining up the drop.

When combined with a good crew (Tailgunner too), the Liberator is a deadly vehicle.

I still like tail gunning, even after we lose control and the Pilot and Bombardier bail out, I stay in the tail gun position to finish off that pesky skeeter.

Liberator is deadly, only if you have a good crew, especially the pilot, because to be an effective pilot you must keep the Liberator level to effectively bomb.

And if you get turned around facing an enemy Reaver or whatnot, the 35mm cannon can rip a Reaver a new one.

Defenceless against a well piloted skeeter, just gotta attack from the right angle, and 800xp if they take it down with all three crew. I love hunting Libs. They are pretty devastating to infantry though, good vehicle to attack Vpad queues with. But then again so is a 150mm if you can get close enough.

This one time we were on Hossin. VS (us) held Acan. The NC zerg came mooseing along from Voltan, and attacked over the bridge. The thing was that this would get nasty fast - so what to do?

I brought out the Lib and 2 outfit buds jumped in. Up to flight ceiling, level out towards the bridge, and slow down to 30% flight speed.

The number of kills we got the next minute or so was insane!

It was page after page, name after name of obliterated NCs. (I watched that window, with open mouth, as it just kept scrolling and scrolling...) Just one big, juicy zerg, crammed together on that bridge. After the bridge we went for the bridge head, on the Voltan side. Same thing there. We took out everything! Buggies, Vanguards ... - You name it.

They finally got one or two Sparrows there, and the fun was all over (but we did have time for a land + reload before they arrived ).

But all in all - I think that it's better spending those points on a tank cert instead. Tanks are more effective over time, and a much more live threat on the battle field.

... but I gotta admit that that Lib run was fun.

Liberators work best when the crew is in voice chat (we use Teamspeak) Since all 3 people get the camera view, it is practicaly impossible to creep up on a lib. and as such it is easy to fend off a lone flying vehicle, when yo ustart getting 2,3 on 1's then the lib cant do much, since it is very hard to run away without afterburner (though the jungles of hossin do help)

The key to lib's though is communication, if a gunner sees an enemy, let the pilot know right away, if the bomber is just off a run let the pilot know.. etc..

Ob strikes are nice when you have them all ready charged and you see a AMS being guarded by 4 other tanks and a ANT and you get to see them all blow up by your OB strike, but a lib strike always fun also
