After some testing, I found why our deployables refuse to...well...deploy. The cause of the problem is changing zones; warping from cont to cont, spawning at a matrixed ams on a different cont, or HARTing in. Immediately after doint any of these, you will be unable to deploy anything. Deconstruction seems to work about 50% of the time. I seemed to find that the times it didn't work, I either couldn't deploy or I got stuck in permanent deploy mode. The later required a trusty Alt+F4.
The sure-fire fix? Blow yourself up with a couple of nades, or have your buddy tk you. After you respawn you will be able to fully use your deployables. I have found that certain areas have had additional restrictions set on them. For instance, there is about a 1 to 2 meter threshhold for deploying near a wall. For this reason, some areas can be a real bear to deploy in. Hope this helped. |

Thanks for the info.
I hope they get a fix for this soon. I'm getting really annoyed having to deconstruct and then respawn just so I can use deployables. It almost cost me a tower last night when I wasn't able to set up defenses fast enough. I hate the new restrictions on deployable spacing as well. I never saw a problem with the old restrictions and I wonder why they changed it. You can rarely find a good spot to hide your spitefires now. Ambushes are a lot harder to set up. |

This bug is annoying, but i think most other combat engys will agree, it is a small price to pay to have the equipment you put down actually deploy, I was starting to get really sick of using up all ten of my ACEs only to look back and see that I only get five or six mines out of it. It was especially crippling around towers, sometimes if I was laying them on the roof I would only get one or two mines out of it. I'll gladly wait thirty seconds to have that shit go away.
