They always reminded me of the monster's with the bee gun from Half-Life. After I played VS and saw them all the time I realized they didn't look much like that. But I do see the resemblence between these two characters.

So now we have VS max looking like Samus

In my opinion, the TR MAXes look a lot like Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story. Also, NC maxes bear a similar resemblence to the Heavy Armors from Starsiege: Tribes.

they look more like those really deep water scooba suits (the metal things, like the one with the big sphere thing around the guys head)

The VS maxes were definitely made by Nintendo.

I mean, purple suit, and purple gaming system(yes I know its in 3 colors!).

Only Nintendo could do that. Oif.
