I've looked all around and since the training is fucked, what is the "How" of capping a base. I tried to hack one tonight and it said that the base is not linked with a friendly facility. Well, when you start off on a continent the enemy has locked up, no base will be linked to a friendly facility. Where can I find the A-Z of capping a base? It seems kind of difficult to figure out when looking at it being done. I do understand once a base is hacked, it spawns an LLU and that has to be taken somewhere and then you wait or something.

Ok, to cap a base, there are 2 ways:
1. Hacking the CC. When its linked, indicated by a yellow line on the map, to a friendly base. 2. Blowing the gen, or draining the NTUs. Bases have NTUs, which power them. Whenever a terminal is used, it hogs NTUs. Or if something is destoryed, NTUs are spent to repair it. When there are 0 NTUs, the base goes neutral, making it hackable by everyone. Theres also LLUs, but I have homework so I cant tell you. |

NTU's are not used when someone orders something from the terminals. NTU's are only drained from repairs.
I used to be spawning as well. But that is no longer true. Today it is only repairs (which is why it is harder to drain a base through a seige.) But Jet is right, connected to a friendly base via yellow line or if the base is neutral.

So if an enemy owns the continent, the only ways are to drain a base to neutral, or look at the bases attached to a warp gate, and make sure that the lattice linked to the warp gate is yellow, meaning it's linked to a base on the other side of the warp gate that your side owns.

Blowing the Gen doesnt allow you to hack w/out a lattice. You must drain the NTUs to a neutral state if you want to hack w/out a lattice. Blowing the Gen does help you drain the NTUs but it also alerts the enemy to what you are doing. Better is to to keep all terms in the base destroyed and have the silo boomer/mined for when an ant comes

Anyway, if an entire continent is the color of an enemy, and all bases on the other side of the warpgates are enemy as well, you cant hack anything but towers unless you drain a base.
