I thought of something to replace the NC shield ability with: The NC human shield!
We finaly get to use that giant right hand of ours! Here's my idea in full. How to use it: If an enemy infantry(non-MAX) is in range inside a reasonable area around the CoF, the MAX will reach out, grab them by the head, and hold the poor bastard in front of them. Bennifits: All fire directed at the front of the MAX will then be dealt to the infantry who is being dragged along. The MAX can move and fire as normal. Detriments: All except periferal vission is blocked. Human shield can still turn, fire, and reload their weapon, but cannot switch weapons. If run mode is activated while holding an infantry unit, said unit is imediately dropped. 1/2 cappacitor charge is used with each grab attempt. Short delay between grab atempts. This is half-joke, half wish, so bring on the critisism!

Well, at least firing with the shield on would be nice. Does the shield protect close up allies? I've helped repaired friendly maxes and some would turn their shields on for me. Yet, I've been told that the shields do not project far enough to protect another individual. I very much appreciate all the friendly maxes' gesture to protect me out there. However, I've been fortunate enough to not be targeted while I'm repairing so I don't know the exact truth firsthand.
