I am vacationing in Boston right now and it isn't half as bad as I thought it would be.
Being a proud Texan, Southener, then American, I have always been quite fond of the south. I have never really had much expeirences with the north aside from my cousins who live in Penn. and hate it. They say that everyone makes fun of them and says that southerners are slow witted.
Needless to say, I came to Boston expecting a bunch of rude, arrogant people, and was supprised when they wheren't. Boston is a very cool little town and they don't seem to be as rude as I expected, but they do have alot of misconceptions about the south (wich is ok, I had alot of misconceptions about the nort

).
I still like the south alot better, Texas specifically, however because of the Republican local and state governments and because of the small amount of gun control laws.

In short, sorry north, you wheren't rude, just misunderstood.

I live so far down south (Miami) that our culture isn't actually "Southern" anymore. Go NORTH to Jacksonville, and it's a whole new world.

Of course I was born in Detroit (please hold the Eminem music or face tar and feathering), so I know the Midwestern culture also.

North sucks, i flew accross this country, and i went to the land of 100 puddles, and i went to the twin cities, and they were the rudes ass holes i ever saw, though, i was with my brother the entire time, and he was a stupid ass picking fights.

but the thing i found most rude, was that id open a door for a lady ( as us southern gentlemen do ) and noone said thank you, not a single one, now i know i dont require thanks, but still, your rude if you dont say thank you to someone that goes out of his way to be a gentleman.

I'm 45m north of Boston. imo its a really good town, be sure to hit up some clubs and bars in Fanuel hall (sp?)

Ah yes the south, where a man can be an illiterate inbred hick who divorced his sister to marry his mother who is also married to his uncle and still be socially acceptable!

Or how about:
Ah yes the South where you and your drunken small minded neighbors can beat a black man to death while wearing sheets and get a free round of drinks at the local bar for your trouble!

Stereotypes suck, but if you want to play with them I promise you the north has much more potent ammunition and far more of it

most people think Texans are gunslinging hicks, whereas in austin nearly half the people ar hippies..some places in texas are fuxx0red like Waco, but for the most part preconceptions about texans are wrong. such as being overly friendly...or we think bigger is better...
