Which one is better? I'm using 56k dialup AOL right now, and i know that AOL is really buggy and it majorly sucks. Yesterday my mom brought up that she would want yahoo DSL instead of AOL DSL price wise. Whats the difference? Which one is better and which one could improve my online gaming?
I really want to do the stuff the balck dude on the comertal does (says "Woa, I got dsl!"), and fight in zergs in PS and d/l that 80mb final update on T2 so i could kick ass again. :note: Cable is not an option, I dont get cable up here. Last edited by BUGGERGHOT; 2003-09-27 at 10:11 PM. |

I'd check with your local telephone carrier first for their prices. I would rather deal with a local telephone person that try to resolve a problem with someone across the country.

Did that already...kinda. Its like $20-$30 for Yahoo DSL and $35-$40 for AOL DSL. I didn't ask about features and stuff, and right now i'm kinda just looking at the features that come with AOL or Yahoo DSL. All I want to know is which one is faster and better.
Eh, k i just did that, but coming here first proves my for PSU. |

Get a non AOL/Yahoos conection, Just get regular SBC or whatever your local phone company is DSL or get you locarl cable, the Yahoo and AOL is the same service from the local companies but with AOL or yahoo running over it. I know i have AOL BB, but the ISP is acctualy Roadrunner, out local cable thing. We just use aol so my dad cou;d keep his email that he uses for his Work. Its cheaper to go with the local BB providers
[EDIT:] I used cable as an example but its the same with DSL

Well now my mom wants to see bout thoughs things that boosts 56k speeds like twice or something, I dunno, I just want DSL or Satilite (now bringing that in), though satilite probably costs like 100 bucks a month or something. i dunno.
And from what it looks, it seems we can't get yahoo dsl here.....I dont know why, cause my friend down the road has it. :/ |

Satellite High Speed connection is a last resort. If that is the ONLY way to have High Speed, then do it. Cable is a good option. It has great speeds but as more people in your area get it, your speeds will diminish. Satellite DSL has the problem of being down when it rains hard. The speeds for uploading data are slow |
