Thanks to a comment from Lilbird2431 in my post about base defence, I was wondering if more and more people are starting to move away from zerging.
Once you've reached BR18-20 do you feel more comfortable doing things that don't neccessarily reap you a lot of BEP? (Base defence, tower capping, ANt runs, smaller fights on less populated continents) Do you feel freer now to explore the game and try things you never would have before? |

Absolutely. I still want some of that sweet EXP so I can get BR20 and my last cert (sniping, completing the infantry weapons cert set) but even now I just do whatever the heck I want. Organizing base defense is the shiznit.
One of two things will happen when you hit BR18-20: either you'll lose interest in the game because you're a mindless EXP whore, or you'll realize that you are now free to do whatever you want and you'll have a freakin' BALL. I'm the latter and it's great. |

I've always felt free to play the game the way i wanted to.
I managed to get that whole, "MUST GET TO NEXT LEVEL" state of mind out of my system. Of course this was after close to 5 years of XP Level grinding in Everquest. But, yes. Being the Top level can help enjoyment. You are less limited and you options are much broader. Games like this are a lot more fun if you ignore the XP bar and do your own thing. |

im currently playing my friends BR20 CR5 and its the most fun i have ever had, alot of the time i wont even worry about waiting around for a hack to be placed if the fight is dieing down. i just concentrate on killing, messing around, and having pure fun. no squad leading, outfits, or exp farming for me.

Strange... everytime i gain XP now thats not in the form of CP i almost feel like its a waste. Like i coulda been doing something "more important" that doesn't pay much XP for dividends. I find that i enjoy tower fights and small resecures the most. Even solo defending an entire continent is a blast. Hunting down the solo invader and forcing them to recall or spawn at sanctuary is fullfilling to me.
My game sucks when in the presance of anything bigger than a large enemy zerg. Since i don't care about XP at all i prefer the small fringe battles. Needless to say i've solo lost several continents. When it takes more than 1 cr5 led, organized squad to kick me out. That feels pretty good. I've faced Opter and his crew several times making myself a total nuesence. Occasionally i've squaded with like minded individuals on the same mission but that i didn't meet until already engaged against the enemy. Often times these people know what they're doing and require little to no guidance or discussion. This is a good way to get into a solid non-outfit squad or just team up for a particular objective. |

Yeah I started chilling out after BR14 cause I had all the certs I desperately wanted. Now it's all about the killing, and I do seem to have a lot more fun putting up a hopeless defenses, cause there is nothing like when you get on a roll and take down enemy squads single handedly. Especially when they thought they had the continent to themselves.
