Exclamation RAM voltage (Tech Assistance)

I was haveing problems with PS CTDing and sometimes even rebooting my machine. After trying a lot of different things suggested (reformatting, moveing to c partition, updating all drivers, and scaleing back planetside graphics) i still had no success. Finally, I stumbled upon a post somewhere (I wish i could remember so I could give credit) that suggested changeing my RAM voltage from 2.5 (default for me) to 2.6. After doing this my PS played the entire day without crashing, but does crash every now and then, but no where near as often. So i suggest if you are crashing constantly in PS try changing the RAM voltage. Kudos goes out to the guy that found that, made my week end much better Happy Fragging.

Be carfull ajusting the voltages and things like that. Find the recomended voltage from you memeory manufactuerer and stick with it unless you are overclocking. you can melt the silion right out from under your comp if you up the voltages and oc to much withough good heat disapation

Thanks for the tip

Yeah i know about the cooling... I built the case myself. The cooling is really good in the case and my system runs really cool. But you are correct... If you are going to try this you should really know what you are doing. But only custom built machines are gonna give you that option. Retail computers (ie Dell and Gateway) are probably not going to even give you the option. Just thought i would post what worked for me. I still ctd about twice a day, but lots better. I think if i disabled the loading of the textures between continents it would reduce it but i am on a 56k and i can't afford to have to load textures in mid continent. Thanks again for the tip...i should have included that in my original to keep typical users from just trying something.
