Before the last big patch you could place deployables a lot closer to walls/trees/rocks etc. You could also place boomers and motion sensors on walls. At the moment there is a bug that only allows them to be placed on the floor and a lot further away from other objects.

It's best to place deployables where they can't be seen, so you put them right next to a tree, wall, door... but with last patch all deployables had to be like 3 feet from an object, really messing up alot of tatical placement. Right now, it's a challenge to use boomers indoors because you will try to slap one down in a hurry and you get a message "Unable to Deploy".
I'm a inf/CE and that delay in trying to find a spot to place the damn things has gotten me killed many times. Because i cannot as tacticly place mines and turrets now, i end up only killing stupid people who don't pay attention to where they are going, instead of laying down well thought out ambushes like i used to.
