Online Gaming Experience

I just wanted to know what game(s) everyone started playing online. What really got you hooked to online gaming?

I started playing Duke3d with some friends. We would direct dial with our 56k modems, connect to eachother and have 1 vs 1 dm games. Then I got hooked with Quake 2. Played it on Heat.net, Gamespy and mplayer for over 3 years. I've played 10six, Tribes, HalfLife (CS, TF), Quake 3, UT, Tribes 2, JK2: Jedi Outcast, UT2k3. Also played non fps games like Warcraft, StarCraft, Diablo 2.

The game that officially got me stuck on online games was Delta Force, then I played Delta Force 2 (this game was around for about 3 years), then the uber-kickass Delta Force: Land Warrior, and then Delta Force: Task Force Dagger. (They were all BNet games.) I also played Starcraft, Starcraft Brood Wars, and Warcraft 3.

Duke 3D here too. I'd actually LAN with a friend, and we'd play that game for hours and hours.

Tribes.

There is no other online game that compares. Since the day I quit playing T1 I have been searching for something that is as much fun. I'm hoping PS will be that game.

I enjoyed Tribes 2 more mainly because I had cable while playing it. I might have enjoyed Tribes more if I wasn't playing on 56k at the time.

Well, I have to credit DOOM with getting me into PCs and games. The one that really got me into online gaming was Tribes.

While I was already a long time PC gamer, I didn't have a decent connection to play anything until we setup a LAN in the house and started playing CounterStrike.
My current addiction is Soldier of Fortune 2:Capture the Flag.

Well if you want to go to the games that got you into just PC gaming in general I'm going to have to say Wolfenstein 3d or "wolf3d". You got to fight hitler! Doom was very up there along with Wolfenstein Spear of Destiny, Doom 2.

It was really the first PC game I spent any amount of time playing.

Only online game i've really got hooked by was PSO(on the DC) and Tribes 2.

I played the SoF2 MP demo a lot and a few other demos but nothing that made me want to buy the game and play non stop like those 2.

as far as hooked to PC gaming, that would have to be Civilization. What other game could make an entire night vanish??
