Latitude Longitude Grid

Shouldn't PS have some sort of grid that allows people to give certain positions to fellow comrades?

This way when someone yells AMS SouthEast of base on broadcast you can shout an x, y, z (z for core combat) position from your personal way point or map grid. Militaries always have this....

Would be very nice addition. Thing is we don't want all those pesky lines.

This is another thing they should have added in beta. There's no reason not to have it.

I would like a latitude longitude grid, but I always have a squad with waypoints anyway.

If they had the grid system as soon as some one found a ams all they have to do is yell the cordantes and you have one OSed ams. I say that would work if they had an alarm to the ams driver saying your ams had been found.

Doesnt /loc only show your players position? Not something elses. So unless your just passing by or sumthing wouldnt be a bad way to define the location of an ams or something else.

/loc is so arcaic though. It shows every meter of movement which is completely unnecessary. It would be very easy for them to implement Lan/Long based off of every 25 or 50 meters of movement.

Simpler yet, would be to display the cordinates at the cursor location or in a small window when the map is open.

I said this a while ago, some form of grid system perhaps

"AMS in the NE of Grid B4"

Doesent seem like it would be hard to implement.

I never did finish the rest because I stopped playing. You're welcome to finish the rest though.

They correspond with the /loc command coordinates, although they have a margin of error of about +/- 10 meters near the edges.

Umm...yeah. That's sort of the point. All it would do is keep people from having to have long drawn out conversations consisting of:
"Ok, how close is the waypoint?"
"A little to the west"
"Now?"
"No, a little bit more to the west"
"Ok, how's that?"
"Nope, too far. Bring it back to the east a little and a little more south."
"Fuck it, I'm just walking over there."

It shouldn't be that hard just to point out an enemy AMS to your squad.
