Anyone agree with me? Because we all know how boring it is waiting for the hack in that room, and then the (idiot) people in there get bored and start teamkilling. Like this one time, some MAX who's not doing anything in there opens up with his anti-infantry and kills most of the people. It's a pain.

I agree that you have a valid complaint, but if they were going to turn off team damage, they would have done so under all conditions, which reduces the skill required to use splash weapons (and would reduce the coolness of 'Code Black' Liberator strikes (yes, I liked that video)).
The grief system would have given Mr. Pounder a ton of grief, so the game didn't fail, just that one player.

no, it's not needed.
usually, tk-ing during a hack is within an outfit, ppl wont tk because they're bored, since it gives em plenty of grief. plus, the retards sitting in the CC during the whole hack are useless to your empire, as they could be better used somewhere else (ie, the next base, a nearby tower...etc) |

Why do so many people seem to think guarding the CC is a bad idea? [sarcasm]Yes, it's a horrible idea for anyone to guard the CC after the hack. I mean, there's no possible way an enemy could sneak into an unguarded CC and resecure it, right?[/sarcasm] Guarding the CC is, in fact, an important job and one that's usually pretty god awful boring as well. Does it require that 60 people hang out there? No, of course not. Most of those people should in fact move the hell on. A couple of MAXs and and advanced medic/Engy can go a long way. But yeah everyone should just run off to the next tower/base as soon as the hack starts. Now I do agree, if you're just going run around in the courtyard of a base that's been hacked and has no resistance then yes, there's not much reason for you to stay there and you should probably move on. Leaving a couple people or even a squad behind in the base you just hacked to ensure it goes through isn't stupid though. In fact I'd say it's a pretty good idea.

If you Disabled FF in CC, what would prevent a few people with a thumpers from just spamming plazma grenades to protect the CC? They could do it without worrying about grief points and make it impossible for anyone to get in there.
I think a better tactic is to leave the room when idots start TK'ing each other.

Happy lil' Elf, i'm not saying CC defense is bad, but when 30 people sit inside a zerged base with tons of vehicles in the courtyard with no resistance at all, it's a waste of manpower. Usually they are needed at the next base, a nearby tower, etc.
Also, people need to learn about the time slice system that went in 4+ months ago, i still see lots of idiots saying "WE NEED TO STAY IN SOI FOR XP"..... |
