I have a problem my game of planetside is constantly crashing. Most often it does so with no message at all, it just locks up or simply closes Usually at least once evey half hour. I was just wondering if anyone else has had these sort of problems and if anyone at all knows how i could fix it. Here are my system specs and thank you.
1.8 Ghz pentium 4 m processor 384 mb of ram geforce 4 videocard Windows XP professional 24x cd drive Cable modem If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. |

Have you checked to make sure you have the latest and greatest drivers for your mainboard/video card/sound card?
When I had a problem with crashes like that, it ended up being drivers for my sound card that were the cause of the problem. As odd as it may sound, have you tried playing on the test server to see if you crash the same way there? Keep in mind, Sony has an email addy to submit your crashlogs to when you CTD or lock. I can't remember it off hand and I'm at work right now so I can't go look because of proxy issues. Upping the ram never hurts either!

BLack you coun'nt put a P4 in that comp without getting a new mobo and memory just so you know, it sound more like a driver proble to me, get the new ones, or remove and reinstal the drivers you have

If you have that amount of ram, you will probly need a new motherboard too. I dont know if there is a board that has a ram config that can get that number and goes up to 1gig. But, then again i missed a few years of boards.
Get intel's new 875p board. Last edited by Ait'al; 2003-10-31 at 05:24 AM. |
