A question about updates.

I downloaded the Trial from planetside's own ftp server, it took 7.5 hours to complete using my ADSL. Now I've logged in, it wants to download almost 4 hours worth of files. You would think that since I used planetside's own ftp they would have up-to-date downloads there. Is this a common thing in planetside? Do they hit you with massive updates like this all the time? Or is this a one off becuase of the Core Combat addon?

I don't want to sit down for a quick game to find I can't play for 2 hours due to updates.

Looks like im not the only one put off by the large downloads.

Just turn it on before you go to sleep, the only one that hurts is the first one.

As far as sigs, bryans went up a few days after sigbots last rampage, it usually prowls about around once a month IIRC, so it'll be owned eventually, soon hopefully.

Uhh, my sig is bigger than his and it's never been pwned. There is a post somewhere on here that says what the specific limits are just do a search, mine is set to the max.

And I just prefer cable to DSL. I have never had a pleasant experience dealing with DSL or DSL companies, and cable has always been so much faster for me despite the hype/lies about dedicated line this vs cable is shared that yadda yadda. Stupid TelCos.

As for the updates guess what, its "canceled" twice for some unknown reason. It just says "Download Canceled"
Then, when press update again it doesnt resume, it scans the files then starts right from the start again.

If it keeps this up PSide can shove it.

It doesn't start from the start, as far as i know it just resets the bar, as for why it cancels, i dunno, don't hit the cancel button? Never heard of that problem.

bah, i should have checked the properties on it instead of just taking his word on it's kb size
