Chat blackout while spawning

Is it just me, or is the fact that you can't chat while you're spawning pretty lame?

Don't tell me "you're supposed to be dead, you can't talk" because anyone on Roger Wilco, TeamSpeak, etc. can keep on talking, so why should keyboard users be punished?

One good thing, at least, is that you can still use outfit chat while spawning, but it's akward.

Should they change it? Is it a bug? Should we all just use voicechat?

I don't know, but it sure would pass the time better while I respawn.

I hate typing, but it's often necessary. I use spawning to setup a message so that I can hit ENTER, Up Arrow, and enter, and the message is away.

I either do that or I type it in outfit chat becuase I'm usally in a outfit squad or solo.

I'm always afraid to bring this up on the official forums cuz i can just see spork responding "well well just have to do something about this teamspeak thing" even though i suspect many people whould quit this game if they couldnt use teamspeak, i think i whould.

I don't think they can limit the usage of TS. And sorry, not being able to talk while respawning is perfectly viable. If you have something to say, wait to click the respawn button. As you said, you're dead, why would you be able to speak? That doesn't make sense to me

Besides, sometimes you can send /tells and talk in outfit chat, but sometimes you can't, I think its a bit buggy.

My outfit doesnt even use Teamspeak since it is crap. Ventrilio is much better and Sony has no control over it. As far as the typing blackout, it is super lame but I figure its just a technical issue they dont want to spend coding resources to fix. However, if it is not, very lame indeed. Since you can lay there dead and chat, why cant you chat while spawning?

And... TeamSpeak is better than Ventrillo. I've used both, and I definately think TeamSpeak is better. But that's just my opinion.

At one point they said they would remove the restriction of not doing anything while dead. No idea what happened to that

Even thought it is lame and annoying , who ever said that your dead and shouldnt be able to type is absolutley right.

Then you should forget everything that happened to your previous clones when you die, including everything you'd done since that clone first spawned. Unless of course your 'central consciousness' isn't stored in the clone, but in the matrix, in which case you'd be chatting from within the spawn matrix. Either it's a realism issue or it's a concession to the reality of online gameplay.
