I have newegg in my favorites list.

They are all so inexpensive now. I was confused by it and wondering if theres something new to look for. Either in choosing one or not choosing one.

There isnt any weird use of the word retail or anything going around where they dont give you the real retail box is there. Ive seen a few "retail" boxs that wre fishy, like the box picture was wrong or something didnt seem right in the description.

It should be either OEM or Retail. OEM will just be the driver and cables usually. Retail will have some basic software.

As for DVD burners -
Best is the Plextor PX-708A $230 Black Retail Newegg. Second is the Sony DRU510A $172.50 Retail Newegg.
Third is the Pioneer A06 $168 Retail Newegg.

The plextor can do 8X DVD+R which the others can't, and its about the top brand in burners. Personally I like the Pioneers, I have the A04. I'm waiting for a driver that can do DVD-R at 8X then I will upgrade. I do all my stuff in DVD-R as its the more common format and what all my stuff uses. So first find out what format your going to be working in and decide. But if you want best its the plextor.
