Chrome demo...it's actually fun.

I got the demo here:

http://www.demo-files.com/view.php3?1513

The single player has a tutorial to get you all squared away, then the single player mission starts. You get to drive a couple of vehicles, fire a handful of weapons, and kill several dozens badies. Hitboxes aren't to bad, I'm thinking maybe three per enemy. Head shots with the sniper rifle are pretty sweet, plus you get a nice ragdoll effect. The targeting system is very similar to Planetsides, except you have to mount you weapon to tighten the COF.

The game has a very similar feel to Planetside. It's almost like the devolopers took everythin PS left out and all the stuff people wanted and tossed it into Chrome. There is a great radar system, motion tracker, waypoints, and squady markers. Vehicles have a decent physics associated with them.

The multiplayer is good if you can find a decent server. Everytime I tried playing there were only European servers available. I did find one US server with 12 guys on it and it rocked. Decent sized map and the vehicles are fun and very effective. The capture the flag is ghey IMO, but the assault map is worth it.

The only gripe I have is the sound is not very good. There is only a couple of options and they suck, may be an issue with my sound card though.

I'd like to hear some of your opinions on Chrome.

This demo made my computer weep in agony. AMD 950 is not exactly great for a game with that much detail in large open spaces

As your character is running, he hold the weapon down low. You move much faster, but your sights are opened, so shooting while running is very inaccurate.

I toggle my weapon to my shoulder with the tab key, or momentarily by holding the right mouse button. This tightens up the COF and reduces your speed. By kneeling, your COF tightens up even more. Going prone causes it to be dead-nuts center.

i thought it was so-so. the storyline seemed kinda flat. the animation was okay. the music was nothing to go crazy over.

it's sort of a budget-developer version of halo, is the best way i could put it.
