Run Forest Run (MAXs)

I've seen MAXs leg it at high speed off into the distance, and screen shots with "You cannot fire in run mode displayed" I just got myself my first max, and I cant find the key to make it run. I'm VS.

I tried pressing J (vehicle speical ability)
K makes me jetpack
Surge cant be used....

So how do I go into "run mode" Shuffeling along from the tower to a base is getting on my nerves because some asshole reaver always spots me.

[Edit] dont tell me to do the training becasue the training crashes at HART familiarisation, so if it was in training, I cant train.

A MAX in run mode pulls about 42kph. It's kinda lame. How many more things can they add that diminish the usefulness of vehicles?
