Ok here are the highlights of my CSR help session on chat. None of them are direct quotes as i did not save it, But here we go!!!
Ok in the begining befoe we are connected i provide all my info including connection type, vid card, all the basic good stuff. So he asks me for internet connection type. I respond: Cable Modem. He pauses and then asks if i have router and what kind. I say "yes" (as if i would leave my ass open by not having one). He says that Everquest does not support routers. I explain that i am asking about Planetside (as earlier stated in the form with my basic info) He basically tellls me that no MMORPG or MMOFPS support routers but he has a type of possible fix. I say ok then he points me to an updated driver page. I keep pretty current on drivers for stuff, but the new ATI one slid under my radar so i start DLing it. He asks if there is anything else he can help me with. I say yes, can you tell me whether the Planetside servers are up and working? He responds after 2 mins "I was just informed that the Planetside servers are currently down" I ask if there is any timeframe, he says sry no ETA. Oh well. But the moral of the story is WHY THE FRIG DOES PS NOT SUPPORT ROUTERS?? and i know that most people are not using dial up and another well known fact: you would almost have to be MOTARDED to not use a router! |

To answer the loung question in a 2 part series
First the server up and downs are sposed to be kept current on the launchpad after you sign in. To link to it, i would save it as a desktop shortcut or something like that. Just create shortcut, and then copy the address from page, then paste in properties. btw, i have no idea what computer knowledge you have, so take no offense |

i know shit about computer hardware/software, but i know a great deal about HTML and a little on CGI... anywhoo
that answered my question a little bit. what i wanted to know is... are they server up and down alerts updated automaticly by a bot or something or is it done by hand? if its done by a bot, then youd think there be a code for it. if its done by hand, then...
