Lodestar code is just about complete. It just needs to have some effects and sounds hooked up to it. Next week, you will see a preview of it.

Same story with Outfit Base Ownership. More info is coming, but not sure the date on that.

Does anyone else see outfit base ownership as completely useless? I'm not going to even waste my time, or outfit points. Why can't they give us something useful?

I don't think OBO will be useless, although I get the feeling that it is another decent idea that will not have anywhere near the amount of impact they were hoping for. Kind of like the caverns.

I think it will make a change in the game, but not a huge change. Caverns were just poorly implemented.. no denying that.

I don't know about that, I think the caves look awesome but they're just like a new feature that didn't really "catch on" and has had a pretty small impact on gameplay. I get the feeling OBO will be used for a few weeks, but after wasting outfit points on Gunuku and then losing it at 5am to some ghost hacker a couple of times, people aren't going to bother wasting points on them anymore.

You never know though, it could be the final nudge needed to make defense the favourite activity of all the players out there, and lead to a more persistent world with home continents remaining in their empire's hands for weeks at a time. I don't want to get my hopes to high though, cause it seems more likely it will just be the novel thing to do in December, and a waste of outfit points by January.

I got the impression that we were going to be earning credits as well as outfit points for battle, and that these will pay the price for OBO.

This is going to rock so hard. Dropping AMS, tanks, Flails on strategic locations is going to really improve the game. I hope they bundle it with Galaxy to show some respect to the heroes of heavy transport who have been robbed repeatedly by the HART and the fact that there's only one Dropship Center per continent.

As for Outfit Base Ownership, it's going to improve the game too. Damn right I'm going to defend my outfit's base! I'm going to try to get six modules for it, and I might even leave my underwear lying around on the bathroom floor! If any fool tries to cap my base, they are gonna regret it. Unfortunately, there are only so many 'l33t' bases, e.g. perfectly defensible bases, and they are going to be in HIGH demand, with rancor between outfits that desire them. Only time will tell if this becomes a problem.

Good work devs. Sounds like fun.

Whay exactly does a LoadStar carrie? More or less than a galaxy? But, i know it will be sweet for two heavy transports, ecspecialy if it's packaged with the Galaxy, like Veteran said.
