They've made defense more viable and rewarding with some XP changes, and the core modules. They are also about to open up the cert system dramatically, giving you access to more vehicles and MAX suits for fewer cert points. I'd say over all, this is probably the best time to jump back in. Much better than last month after CC came out and bugged the game to hell and back.

All they've done is grouped multiple vehicles into one certification, and grouped all 3 MAXes together under one (optional!) Uni-MAX cert for 5 points.
The new vehicle certs cost the same as the most expensive vehicle did before (ie: Reaver & Mosquito combined costs 4 certs, Flail and Vanguard/Mag/Prowler cost 3 certs). The only exception is the transport cert that gives you both the Deliverer and Sunderer, and it only costs 2 certs. W00t! |

I too am hoping to rejoin PlanetSide soon. I played back in the beta. After beta I realised how much of a bad effect PS was having on my monthly download limit of 3 gig (ugh australian broadband blows, or rather, it blew). So I waited til I got unlimited. This unlimited ISP turned out to be a shocker and I couldn't even patch the damn game for the entire duration of my 7-day trial. So I never even got the play the fscking trial, spent a week trying to patch. BAH!
Anyways.. I'll be on a decent ISP next month and I'm gonna join up. I heard the Vanu on Johari (server I played in beta) need help. I just hope theres still enough people playing to guarantee the scale of battle I often saw in beta. I remember some very fun times in the centre of Searhus, back when I played TR, driving through hordes of Vanu in my harasser and flying off cliffs at high-speed. Ooer I hope they haven't changed the physics too much. I miss my harasser. Aiie I wanna play PS. |

As for the large battles on Johari .. we TR spend more time on Ishundar it seems than anywhere else it seems lately, and the Vanu are far from hurting for people, but alas, that's your choice. Look forward to seeing ya there!

Aww but that was one of the coolest things in PS. I'd pick up some random teammate and ask him where to (I kinda like being a taxi inbetween battles), sometimes we'd run into an ANT and have to chase it down and kill it. Fun stuff. I remember one time we chased an ANT into a bunch of NC standing around outside a warp gate, we almost died killing that one.
Anywho, the Vanu aren't hurtin for people? Bleh. whos the underdog then? Just as long as it isn't NC, i'll join em. (Don't like the colours) |
