The more RAM the better. PS runs like ass unless you have a lot of RAM.

I have 640 right now, what If I got a 512 and got rid of my 128 and I had a grand total of 1024, would I see a mass improvement in gameplay?

Btw Xxzard, turn off bullet holes, PS runs much better with them off.

You need more ram if your HDD light flashes on and off all the time during play.
The best thing you could get for planetside is a brand spanking new top of the range Graphics Card.

How do bullet holes make PS run slower? Would it be the amount that can build up? Cuz, they dissapear after a while and the more you shoot, the faster they dissapear.

When I went from 512 to 1024, I could up the gfx from low to high and switch on all the complex textures and I still had a 10 FPS improvement.

Bullet holes make PS run slower because PS engine has to continuously draw them in, and keep drawing them in. They disappear after a short period of time, but IF the engine does not have to draw them at all, your preformance increases. Same with Weather, and Flora. You turn them off, and your preformance increases.

Well, you can't turn the weather effects off, that would basically be cheating, but the flora I have off. So, if I turn off the bullet holes I will get better performance? I'll try that. Does it have an option of its own? or is it under something else?

you can turn off weather effects. And Tera no ram>graphics card in PS. To turn off weather its skydome BUT, you cant get rid of distance fog cuz thats cheating there.
