On Markov it's now impossible to be a cloaker and crouch walk past deployables. They track you 100% now when within the SOI of an enemy held base. The ones deployed out in the field work as normal, get near a base or tower and its another story.
Is this the Devs testing something? Or is it a module/link benefit I don't know of yet? Or is Markov (I have not tested other servers) having a problem with this? I thought I noticed something funny, so I took the time to crouch walk all the way from a warp gate to an enemy base... and as soon at I was in range motion sensors would sound off and or lone spitfire turrets would open up... and going from crouch walk to completely crouched and still won't stop the tracking/alerting. Finally, I thought the wraith was not supposed to show on the mini-map with link benefits? It does and apparently without the link benefits too. In a continent held by my empire and one other the third empire had a stray Router driving around with 0 bases hacked or owned. I tried to follow him at a save distance in my cloaked wraith when I realized he could see me "behind" him. He was taking evasive maneuvers and crossed water to avoid me. I know the wraith makes some noise while moving, but to hear me on a loud ass Router from half a click back seems a bit much... I think I was showing on his mini-map. Also of note, lone reavers are enjoying the ability to see crouch walking cloakers in a forest. They fly near by passing through, double back, and let the rockets fly through the foliage... lovely. I thought with interlink they could only see running infils on the minimap?
I've actually been having the opposite problem on Emerald. Occasionally even with the interlink facility, standard infantry and occasionally vehicles as large as tanks aren't showing up on the map even while moving. I was run over by a mag this morning that wasn't showing up on my map. I heard it and turned around just in time to get mowed.

On some continents, everything shows up on your mini-map, even if you have no Interlink facility and are not even near a SOI. (Just another bug that came with the last patch.) For the last few days when playing as an infiltrator I have seen people completely turn around and come kill me because they seen a red dot on their radar 200m away.

The whole game stinks at the moment. The stench of server unreliability, and the screams of exploits pollute the air.
The devs need to find and fix whatever is going on (with the NC in particualr) in a matter of days, or the magority of the player base will ditch Pside in favour of the up and comming christmas games. WTF is wrong with the Werner server? Did they forget to switch the firewall on before they left for the weekend or something?

Oh well, at least if the Devs recognize it, they will slate it for a fix. They have been on the ball lately. BadAsh

Yeah I think everyone by now has realized the latest bug. You will see any moving enemy on your mini-map, even cloakers. It's like audio amp on crack, and it really sucks.
Other than that bug, if you have an interlink facility, spitfires will shoot at all enemies in the soi of a base *IF* there is also a friendly motion sensor in the same area, regardless of them moving or not. This seems to be a little-known fact, but it was originally documented with the flb patch. |
