from reading in these forums i have decided to get a radeon 9600 for my pc. i dont have alot of money to spend and really just want to know what the difference is between the radeon 9600, the se version, the pro version, and the xt version? i know the pro and xt's are more money but are they really worth the extra money or will ps run nearly aswell with the se or the original?

There is no 9600 regular and more jsut the SE Pro and XT
The SE is basicaly crap, and i would only get it if i there was no way for me to put together the extra 20-30 bucks for the pro, it has a 64 bit memory bus and its way slower than even the 9600 regular was. The pro is the midrange card with the most bang for the buck out of any, its reliable, OCable, and preforms better thant the FX5900 ultra in some benches. The XT is the fall refresh version of the pro, its clocked faster and has faster memory. Its also built on a .13um (micrometer) low-K die-electrick so it uses less power. It also has built in temp sensors so you know if you OCed it to far. It normaly has better cooling than the Pro. It preforms a bit better than the pro. It's only about 20 bucks more too. And there you have it, i wish i had bought a 9600 pro. Realy its you choise of witch to get.

The new drivers (not shure build number) will have a feature for 9600 and 9800XTs , with warranty supported over clock, it takes the temp of your comp and sees how much abuse the card can take and adjusts the clockspeed of memory and GPU accordingly. Read that in PC Gamer , cant wait til christmas
