hmmm, havent heard of this one yet...

Reinstalling might fix it, but use that as a last resort until you get word from some of the smarter techies

Sounds more like software than hardware...

Thats interesting i've never heard of a bug like that. Try doing a full scan.
If that doosn't work do a reistall but remember you have to download all of those updates.
I realy doubt its a hardware issue.

I'd suggest going to Xp, its prolly more of a 2K issue.

Actually i dont think anything about that remotly makes it sound like a hardware problem. 8) ^^ >< atleast not superficially.

The only thing it could have in common with hardware really is the software there based on(like a direct X problem, if this could possibly be related to that sort of thing since the rest of the game uses nothing but it or whatever software it uses.). 8p Or it he has so little ram/sytem resources and the map uses enough ram to cause it to freeze for that reason. 8)

but with this game its i doubt the map could be the case without everything else causing it constantly. Not that theres not the slightest possibility thats it in some tiny corner in the universe. but since were on the subject how much ram do yo have and what are the situations your calling up the map in?

And is anything else causing the same problem. If there is it could really eliminate alot of things. Describe the instances of it happening in more detail. Like what it generaly does and what you notice it doing when it happens besides it just happening.

It's not a hardware problem, its a driver/dx9/planetside problem, thats for sure, if noe of the above worked try reinstalling DirectX 9 it wouldn't hurt anything

Wait a second, you didn't just happen to install Halo did you? When I installed Halo it unleashed all kinds of hell on my system the next time I fired up PS.
