Hi. I have downloaded the new 30 day trial of Planetside and tried to create an account, but no matter what I do I can't get Sony to email me an activation key. I have registered my email address with the download page a few times now, and I have also emailed Planetside support, all to no avail. I already have a Sony Station account from a prior MMO game, but I need an activation code to subscribe to Planetside...
When I tried again today the servers keep throwing MySQL errors ?!?! Does anyone have any suggestions or info which could shed some light on this situation - I want to try Planetside, but after buying StarWars:Galaxies and feeling ripped off I'd rather try Planetside for free for a month rather than hand over a load of cash for the box product. Thanks. |

If your ISP (internet service provider) has a spam filter on their mail server it's probably blocking the email, it did the same thing to me. Use a free web based email address or something that won't have a spam filter on it.
BTW, the free trial is definately the way to go over the boxed product. You don't have to pay for the boxed product and you can just jump into your subscription from the free trial. So basicly you bypass having to pay retail for the planetside CD.

Well I've tried a few things now...
I tried another email address (neither of my email addresses filter spam), and nothing came through on that email address either. I also received a reply from Planetside support telling me to send an email to a gamespot address - I did this and it bounced straight away because the email address 'has permanent fatal errors'. hmm.. not impressed... I'm going to kee trying with this one, but it really is a bit shoddy. |

ok first make a new email address at yahoo http://edit.yahoo.com/config/eval_re...&promo=&.last=
Next go to http://www.gamespot.com/gamespot/mis...ide/index.html and enter your NEW email address. then go to yahoo.com click the mail icon near the top and sign in with your new account. the key should be waiting for you there. |
