I was looking at someof the elite players (most kills) on some PS site and I realized, they have a rediculous amount of kills every day. I know this could be because they play a whole lot, but still, thats a lot. So im wondering, I know this game is skill based, but how do they do it?
Oh yea, if anyone knows of any Grunt vids, well any vids for that matter, that just show pure killing, could you tell me where to find em?

Some people's stats are absolutely crazed, but a good portion of that is playing time. My VS char's outfit leader on Markov is always near the top of the list in kills (and he consistently has 300-400 kill days) but I also realized that regardless of what time I log on he seems to be around. That isn't to discount his skill, he's certainly better than I am, but time is a major factor.
Some people are also ridiculously good, it's just a fact. Some people also cheat, another sad fact. I'm normally most impressed with seeing a string of kill spam where somebody is using a common pool weapon (almost always the Sweeper) and just ripping off kill after kill. Sometimes you see a string of kills with an Empire specific weapon and you think that somebody just happened to have the right weapon for the right situation, but using a common pool weapon and besting a number of people is just impressive. |

Yeah theN00b, simple math.
If 2 hours = 75 kills (give or take) then 4 hours = 150 kills also 6 hours = 225 and 8 hours = 600 There you go... you are on a similar pace, but you have a life and maybe even dare I say have to work 8 hours a day instead of being glued to the monitor. |

But Liquid, you must account for nights when you get lucky and a bunch of guys are just in the right spot at the right time and you get more kills. You also must account for when the planets are not in alignment and the super-rays you normally get from Saturn cannot reach you because the Moon is in the way.

That's an excellent point. There are some nights were everything goes perfectly. You know, when you have a 20:1 KtD ratio or when your ten-man squad single-handedly defeats a filled enemy base. Inversely, there are times when your MAX gets killed by an AMP-wielding infiltrator (points to self ).

The big question is how do these people pay a monthly fee with no job?
As others said the leaderboards only reward those who play the game the longest. Plus, kills aren't the only thing to the game. Kills per hack is where it is at anyway Last edited by kerosene31; 2003-12-23 at 04:03 PM. |
