What are the basic things you need for a water cooling system?(reservoir, tubing, heat blocks,??) I hear dangerden is "the" top of the line? I am partly going on look so.... 8)
IM getting this to play with it 8) http://www.frozencpu.com/cgi-bin/frozencpu/koo-23.html http://www.frozencpu.com/cgi-bin/frozencpu/exp-03.html should i bye these for everything. or are the plates with most stuff better? What are the two other things next to it (the potted peltier) http://www.frozencpu.com/cgi-bin/fro...nu_search.html This is the reservoir im getting, it wil look to cool inside my case 8) http://www.frozencpu.com/cgi-bin/fro...ex-res-01.html
Should i get these or do you use normla water??? http://www.frozencpu.com/cgi-bin/fro...nu_search.html Illl add more after a response, the pages are loading too slow. Anything anyone suggests, or think would look cool! 8) Last edited by Ait'al; 2003-12-29 at 02:03 AM. |

Know what'd be really frickin' awesome?
if you took all your componants out of the case, and then shot it up, lit it on fire, but didnt melt it, etc....So you'd have the battle-hardened, bullet-perforated, flame-charred case of mayhem and hardcore badassitude. Put all your componants back in. No one wants to mess with someone who's got a case riddled with burn marks and bullet holes.

I meant what watercooling stuff would look cool?
Optional Thermal Paste None Arctic Alumina ($4.00) Arctic Silver Ceramique ($4.99) Arctic Silver 5 ($8.00) Nanotherm PCM+ ($9.00) Nanotherm XTC ($7.50) Is the nanthempcm+ better than the arctic silver? |

The waters completely sealed off And i need to water cool my motherboard so i can use good overclocking mem and may need to overclock it alot if i get more than ddr500 if i can overclock it for like 550 or 600when they come out with 2gig twinx sets. Im also geting a case witha completely clear side and want it for looks. Im going ot put blue uv die in it and use really big tubes to make it look nice 8)

Best thermal paste is Artic Silver Ceramique at the moment, get some of that stuff, because I *think* it's non-conductive, which is good, cause if you get any of the other artic silver stuff anywhere but the core of your cpu, you are right royally screwed.

Yea I switched over to the Ceramique also, its much safer and does a good enough job. Things to know about WC: Get a VERY good quality cpu block. Swiftech makes some good ones. Waterflow here is most important. Next.... make sure there are NO Leaks heh. Other than that, suggest go to http://www.overclockers.com and check their watercooling reviews.

If i overclock my fsb to go with my 500mhz ram(or550/600, by the way can i overclock the asus 800edeluxe that high?) do i have to overclock the CPU? I was going to still get the good zalmans fan? and do i have to worry about the cards having errors if i overclock the fsb? I havent decided waht to watercool besides the FSB. Or what sized blocks i should get. I was going to go with this nice looking 1/4 sized one
http://www.frozencpu.com/cgi-bin/fro...ex-blc-60.html
I had an idea! Is there a way to take out the heatsink in this and replace it with a water block or mount the fan and grill on a water block? I dont mind having to use alot of differnet blocks, I want to have as many as possible and still use the fans. Do you think i should get 2 of these to be safe? http://www.frozencpu.com/cgi-bin/fro...tml?mv_pc=3573 Its 280ml, im not sure how much you need per block or whatever? What do radiators do? Do they serve the role of a pump? Last edited by Ait'al; 2003-12-29 at 06:54 PM. |

You can't get 550 or 600 the max is 533, anything above that will be ddr2 or gddr3 and those are next yeard things(not compatible with ddr as we have now) yes if you make the FSB higher the CPU has to go higher too(except if yu unlock the multiplier but only athlons can do that)
dude you need to do a google serch on how to do this and figure it out. There is to much for me to type.

The radiator is to get rid of the heat that has been extracted from your processor and is in the water. Without the radiator you will just be recycling hot water over your processor!
At a very minimum you are going to need a reservoir, radiator, heatblock, and lastly the tubes and fittings. Don't forget that unless you are cooling your liquid then you are not going to get much of a cooling boost over just air cooling, because after a while your water will get hot, and your bottleneck will be cooling your water. If you are looking to overclock by a crazy amount, you will want to run a Peltier cooler, water cool the peltier, and run your coolant through a compressor to keep the peltier very cool. Another alternative is run a large standard copper heatsink, then sink your entire motherboard in mineral oil, then super cool that mineral oil. That will totally circumvent the condensation problem! And don't forget about what Rbstr says... You are not going to triple the speed of your processor or even get close to double. |

IM going ot do teh zalmans fan with a little peltier if its possible for the proccessor! Do you guys know If an 80watt peltier could be cooled with taht fan and a some good conductive stuff or a nice copper plate!? Ill have lots of stuff cooling hte air in the case i think i jsut need to get the heat off the peltier id imagine. Im gonna geta nice frosty air temp in hte comp! 8) not literally though. and ill do a peltier if i need on the fsb. The 9800 xt has a nice looking fan on it so im not doing that, im not overclocking it unless i have to for some reason. Im doing a small 1/4 block for the back side bus and a big 1/2 for the fsb! Im getting only 500mhz gig set for not but i want to design it to take the 533 when it comes out in 2 gig sets or the 500 in 2 gig sets if theres better perfomance from it?!? I have no idea. 8) what do people think!
Im going with dangerden and invenotec or however you spell it for blocks resevoirs and radiators. reservoirs and small block are invenotec and large block and radiator are dangerden. I havent decided on the other stuff yet. but im buying two of those reservoirs i posted earlier incase i spread to more watercooling later and need teh extra water or whatever! I have my comp down to 4600 if i get only one gig of ram for now and get 650$ speakers later and the 500 i set for webcam! That 4600 includes 500 for watercooling(i may comp close with peltiers) 350 headphones and etc and 450 for case(30 dollars left from the current account excluding hte peltier for the processor) and two 250 gig harddrives in stead of one! 8) It also included 250 for a cable modem and 50 for dialup, though it will be 60. the case has all the stuff ive mentioned before plus some new stuff now! And all hte other stuff ive mentioned in hte past. p4 3.2 audigy 2 zs p pro moniter etc. Last edited by Ait'al; 2003-12-30 at 06:24 PM. |
