My First Shot at FIlming in Planetside (Warning: Pure Sh*t, but its fun so who cares?

I forgot that fraps had a restriction of 640x480, so ill set that next time, i got encodeing to work perfectly and im learning windows movie maker. But how do i get sound in fraps anyway here is my first movie

http://staff.planetside-universe.com...rd56/MP2TM.wmv

Edit: I got full fraps 2.0 now so no restrictions, hopefully resolution wont get screwed up and i can flim the full screen, yes i know about hud, This is my 2nd Movie of May Payne 2 Enjoy! (Yes i know by is spelled bu)

Any tips or links for encodeing in DivX?

Evil Homer,

You need a 3rd party vid capture programme....

Use Xvid for encoding animation. With the right combination of filters and codec settings, you can get kick ass quality with small file size. Do some searching on avisynth for filtering, and virtual dub has some great filters available for it aswell.

Guys I used the Demo of the newest movie taker, and the fps is REALLY low, like down to 4 or 5. Is there any way I can fix this without buying new shizit for my pc? I'm running a 2.7G Mhz P4 with 512 DDR RAM and a GeForce 4 vid card.

Turn the capture resolution way down first off. Software video capturing uses a shitload of CPU and RAM, plus it ties up your HDD big time. In conjunction with PS, you need an extremely fast and well setup system to get a decent FPS at decent res with decent settings. Reveler's vid is the only one I have seen that has a decent res, decent graphics, large amounts of objects in game and decent FPS. You could tweak your system a bit to get perhaps double your FPS, but your RAM is what is causing the problem. You need double that to do decent software video captures in a game that hogs RAM like PS does.

Alternatively, if you have a VCR or another PC with a tuner in connection on the GFX card, you can set up video out as a second monitor and simply record on a VHS tape (which will look shit) or another PC (which will look good!).

Your best option is to get a video capture card and do hardware capturing, it will not give you a noticable performance loss like software capturing will do.
