Author Topic: Any difference between the beta and release CDs?
Raynael Station Member Registered: Nov 2002 posted 01-25-2003 06:19 AM user search report post -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey everyone, I honestly doubt anyone but the dev team themselves can answer this one, but it's worth a try. As a European player, I've been wondering what would be the best way to get the game as soon as it's released. -Ordering it? I'll probably have to wait a week before receiving it, and I'll have to pay a crapload of cash. (My wallet cried a river when I ordered DAOC and had to paid 100 bucks.) -Downloading it and buying the CD-key online a la Anarchy Online? Doubt the PS team will do that. And then it hit me, what if (hypotheticaly) I got into beta (*knocks on wood*) and got my CDs. Would it be possible to use the BETA CDs and play the release game? Obviously I wouldn't have a CDkey, but hey, that's easily solved by asking a friend located in the good ol' US of A to go to the nearest store, buy the game for me and send me the CDkey over ICQ/MSN/Insert random Instant messaging program here. Sorry for such a long post even though it's just a simple question. Briley Takes the plate on this one. BrileyPS Station Admin Registered: Apr 2001 posted 01-25-2003 12:31 PM user search report post -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There is a big difference between beta, and the final product raynael. So by having the beta cd's (if you succeeded in getting into beta) they would not work with the final game. I think the best suggestion is to have someone buy Planetside, and ship it to you, since we will not be doing anything but a box product. Hope this answers your question. http://boards.station.sony.com/ubb/p...ML/001852.html
