I have just started playing PS, and I must say it looks excellent. I am a fomer EQ'er but got board of that, mainly because the PK (player kill) was not very good. But a progressive FPS like PS... excellent.
My questions though all stem from Exp Points, 'cos I have just started I have very few CP's but am at loss to know which direction to take, what I really want to know is 1) If I learn engineering, do you get Exp from kill made by your spitfire turrets / mines etc? Or even repairs? 2) If I learn hacking, do you get Exp from hacking consoles or other NME equip? I don't want to learn a trade and then find its hard to get Exp, when like a lot of people I could just go for armour and weps and get Exp by just killing. Any advice / help welcome. XtreamXTC (NC) |

If you want crazy experience, go with your empire tank and engineering. Vanguard is the premier Battle Experience generator, and nothing surpasses teamwork.
Vehicular combat generates the real experience. Vanguard has the biggest gun PLUS a big gun that can shoot down aircraft. Other than that, VS Uni-MAX is a pretty sweet BEP generator. If you're TR, you have no clear advantages for gathering BEP, and you can only rely on loyalty to rise to greatness.

Welcome .... 1)Yes , u get BEP for mines and spitfire kills ... but if u leave them there for i think a day and they kill some1 then no BEP.
2)You only get BEP for hacking and capping a base , not terms ...... so i would go with vanguard and Combat Engineer for u soldier |

There is no xp for repairing or for healing. 2) Besides the obvious base xp, you can also get hacking xp for vehicles. There is no xp for hacking terminals. |

That would be a long day, sundered from the true glory of teamwork.
Heavy Assault does not equal ownage. When's the last time you heard a commander broadcast for Heavy Assault personnel? Dat's right. Commanders want people who can work together, not Quake crackheads with a lust for revenge against schoolyard bullies.

AA MAXs on Defense, Empire tanks, and the Bomber seat on the Liberator is how you get XP if you want it. Also extremely excellent is the Skyguard. It is absolutly sick how many kills and how fast you can get kills with these. The main obsticle here is that getting gunner seats is competitive so find a friend to team up with

you will get the most exp from soloing once you learn how to play. i reccomend you get into a squad first to learn the ropes.
getting certed in a tank is not the most exp, imo. i don't know about other faction tanks for sure, but i know if you cert the magrider for VS, its not for exp. the person getting all the exp is not the driver, its the person manning the cannon-if the person on the cannon is not in your squad, you get no xp. so, you will be sorry(if the other faction tanks are anything like VS) if you get a tank just for xp unless you can effectly drive it, park it someone and man the cannon-but, that isn't a good idea overall. if your in a squad, then all xp is shared. imo, the best xp is soloing with MAXes(mostly the anti-personel and AA), Mos and Reavers(which will take awhile to get good at), and manning guns on tanks or manning turrets(having engineering here helps alot. i have racked up tons of kills at a turret). if you squad, and you find a squad that acutally uses teamwork, then getting a tank is a good idea. i decerted mine cuz alot of the time people have their own vehicles and don't want to gun(or just do their own thing)-i don't want someone not in my squad to man my cannon. |

How to be an xp ho: For NC here is the easiest way. Cert AV and AA max. Next, go solo, since you get xp quicker. Find a nice battle against TR (follow the zerg). Get inside the SOI of the base your attacking. Find a safe spot (tower is the best, near an ams is ok too). Start sniping TR maxes with your AV. Three shots = dead max = 250 to 500 xp each. You can also snipe troops, but the xp is lower. Rinse and repeat until the base is hacked and the gen/tubes are down. Once the hot spots die out, head to the next enemy base SOI (where the zerg is going). Rinse and repeat for each base.
This method will earn you thoudands of xp for the max kills, and thousands of xp for the base caps. Oh, the AA max is for the times when TR have a lot of air up against you. Do the same thing you would for AV, except use the max to kill planes (also good xp). Plus, if you have a good distance to travel, then you can use your max to get there faster. I personally don't xp ho, since I find it rather boring. I enjoy being part of an outfit and using a team approach to fighting battles. That is why I keep a lot of certs tied up in support roles. But that is how I have fun in game. If xp is your way, then have fun.
