I think most people have bullet holes turned off, since it's a drain on performance. I like the idea, however, but I would rather see scruffed up armor instead. It's nice to be wearing a nice, gleaming set of armor, but I think there's something to be said about armor that's nicked and scratched, with the paint chipped away in some places. That type of suit would have to be a skin, however, since creating a scratch would be just as difficult as creating a bullet hole. But something to think about.

As with most things that aren't crucial to gameplay you can make it optional. For us who have machines that could handle that kind of load without getting a noticable drop in performance, I'm sure it would be most a most welcome addition.
The devs spend so much time trying to get the balance right, and adding large updates (capitol buildings), but what I think PlanetSide really need, is some polishing on a more subtle, and finer level. Such as the above mentioned suggestions. |
