Sorry for the sarcastic title. I�m just annoyed by the multitude of bugs in this game so I�m going to mini-rant and then I�m done bitching.
This week the following happened to me: While playing my VS character on Emerald I spawn in Voltan on Hossin and grab a Mosquito at the vehicle terminal. I then proceed the NC controlled Tech Facility, Chac. I bail out on the roof of the base, clear a few deployables, and kill 4 defenders. I hack the base and get ready to defend the hack. Then I hear a Scatter MAX firing and I�m taking massive amounts of damage. I die quickly while looking all over for the MAX. He is no where to be seen. So I strike up a /tell chat with the MAX pilot. His name is �Jadefire� and he is back in Voltan half way across the continent. Guess what happened yet? He was shooting my �image� that I apparently left on the vehicle terminal when I grabbed my Mosquito! Usually, when you leave an image back there it�s just an image. But sometimes you actually �exist� in two places at once and are vulnerable in both! Later I see an AMP Pistol hovering at about waist height so I light the �floating AMP� up with my Lasher and see the cloaker die. Lovely to see that bug alive and well. I�m in a tower and I see �feet� hanging from the ceiling then I hear the Jack triple blast me. See the feet in the ceiling in front of me was actually from a guy who was running around and then behind me. Nice surge-o-portation there. I�m in a zerg-like battle and my FPS fluctuates from 3-9 and I have a top end system. Also, my ping was floating around 80 and my packet loss was .1%, so it was not connectivity lag. It�s just server slowness or code inefficiency. I click to spawn at a base and actually spawn somewhere else. My original spawn choice is still in my empire�s control so there is no reason for my destination to be any other location. I walk up to a door and it won�t open. I wait 2-3 seconds and then it opens. I'm guarding the read door to out base and I can see that it's closes. Only It's not really closed and I realize this when enemy fire is coming "through" the "closed" door and smacking me. I go to a equipment terminal and can�t interact with it. Then suddenly I can. I�ve seen vehicles and enemies vanish and then reappear. In an a dogfight I�m chasing down an enemy reaver with my mosquito. Suddenly he vanishes and is behind me shooting me. Somehow one of us lagged and out positions got updated with the above teleportation-like results. Lovely. I see an enemy vehicle heading towards my walking butt. So I strafe well to the side of it as it passes me by, only I get mowed anyway. I�m in a vehicle and drive way to the side of a teammate only to have him die under my wheels anway. I�m walking on foot as a friendly vehicle drives past me then suddenly I�m partially mowed losing most of my armor and health and I get +10 grief! I could go on here� but I�ll just get to my point: Conservatively I�d estimate that approximately 30% of my deaths in the game are caused by some type of lag delays/strangeness or glitch. Another 20% or so are caused by teammates either critically wounding me or outright killing me in one way or another. The friendly fire accidents I can deal with except that I keep wondering how many of those were glitch/lag related? IMHO SOE should focus their engineering efforts towards: Game Code to help with bugs/glitches/lag � a glitch and lag free gaming experience should be their objective. IMHO SOE should focus their development team towards: Game Balance � even and fair teams should be their objective.

Lovely.[/quote] he lagged, so he reported his position somehwere else. it's not because of the game. it protects people with lag, much better then him freezing in midair and becoming a sitting duck.
you don't understand that games that are updated regularly will always have bugs. it's not a finished product. sure, they could spend 3 months getting bugs out of every version before they add something, but that would really suck. look at AA:SF, it had a hell of allot of bugs at the start, and now it's in great shape. PS is getting there, but because it's a much bigger project, and they are adding much more over time, there's also more bugs. |

I hardly ever encounter these bugs, but it sounds like the continent you were on was overloaded. The bugs--most of them aren't bugs, really, just lag--really roll in after that happens.
My rule is this: when people start vanishing, which is a design feature and not a bug, I leave the continent.
