What about music?

Cant believe I didnt think of this before.
For me one of the biggest requirements for me is listening to music as i kill random people around the world(excluding me DSL connec).
Do you reackon when you play planetside, do you think you will have to be listening closing to whats going on around you, or can you turn up the volume and put on your fav radio station( for me TripleJ )
Cause in counterstrike you can listen to music, but its better if you listen to your surrounding so you can cap some noob coming round the corner.
So..do you think planetside will matter if you have music on or not?

Well, in any game, FPSes especially, it's better to her your surroundings. If you want to listen to music no problem with that though. I won't though.

They will have in game ambient music, not sure if you will be able to input your own music however. This remains to be seen

i personally wasnt thinking ingame, cause i normally find that pretty shit, but do you think planetside is going to be soo comp intensive that you cant play music in the background, such as from winamp or online radio.
I probably knonw the answer already, bigger the better.

Everquest instituted an in-game mp3 player that, though it was pretty buggy, was really handy...maybe PS will add the same kind of feature...to me there's nothing better than smoking foos while jamming out to Kenny G or Michael Bolton.....

Depends what system you're running. I dont think it will be such a resource hog that you wont be able to do anything else

You know, if you are allowed to run a Voice comm program in the background, I don't see why you couldn't be streaming audio, playing a CD, or playing music you have downloaded.

I'm just hoping they haven't forgotten to allow you to turn off the music. I'd much rather have my cd player going than the game's music (although I'm sure I'll listen to it for the first couple of weeks at least. )
