one thats doesn't take up the extra slot eh?
well to be honest quite a few acctualy fit but you get much less cooling performance out of it with the reduced airflow. what kind of FX do you have? EDIT heres one that looks like it might fit http://www.thermaltake.com/coolers/chipset/a1394.htm this to maybe http://www.frozencpu.com/cgi-bin/frozencpu/vid-15.html

yeah, obviously reduced cooling capacity by downgrading surface area.
it's a 5900. i like the way that thermaltake looks, at 12.8mm - the vantec is a taller 15mm with less dissipation area; neither of them specifically list my card. i'm trying to find any mention of the excact locations of hsf attatchment points, especially relative to the cards listed

The Thermaltake one is not reccomended for GeForce FX cards, it's for GeForce 4 and below Same with the vantec one, I wouldn't reccomend putting that on a 5900.
Problem is, the FX cards generate alot of heat, that's why they need such massive cooling solutions. May I ask what you need the PCI slot for, there might be an alternate solution.
