What a sodding waste of time the advance med terminals are.
They are way way too slow. Speed the buggers up please devs. Surely you can do that in a patch without bringing the whole game to its knees and having major downtime and rollbacks. Last edited by Real Mulambo; 2004-04-20 at 06:56 AM. |

While I agree adv. med terms should be faster, I don't think they should be sent to all friendly bases if you own a bio lab. Basically anything hard (like a 2 ton med station) couldn't conceivably get to the base. Software, electronic blueprints (for vehicles), and radar benefits, etc., make sense.
As for the rate of healing, I would say that Adv. terms should heal 10 health/10 armor per second. As it is right now, I believe they heal 5/5 every 1.5 seconds. This way the most time anyone would spend in an adv. term would be 15-20 seconds, as opposed to 45-55 seconds (assuming a rexo with no armor needing to regenerate to 200.)

Just about anything beats MAXes nowadays
Anyway, I think a way of making Adv Med terms actually useful would be to make them heal a percentage of health and armor every second, rather than making it a falt rate. 5 armor per second while in a MAX is torture. I think if they were to set the heal rate at 5-10% of your current maximum health/armor points per second (thus taking 10-20 seconds max to heal to full, regardless of armor), as well as repositioned the terms in bases, they might see a little more use.

If you want something to satisfy your issue with the advancement, nanite clusters in the base are being ordered to upgrade energy arrays on the projector of the terminal, while at the same time, all armor damage is forwarded to supercomputers at the bio labs that analyze armor status on the fly, and send the instructions to the terminal detailing how the nanites need to work to fix said armor damage.
