My subscription had lapsed but I re-upped it because of the infil friendly patch. Infil friendly? I'm finally convinced that the devs either have no idea what playing an infil entails or they're just too amazingly incompetent to actually know how to fix things. For every issue they fix, they put another one in the game just as bad or worse. I just spent hours being sniped, shot, missiled, etc. by people/vehicles who never would have seen me before the patch. I actually had people who would message me after killing me to give me such wonderful information as "Just so you know, you glow white in my sniper scope" or "I could see you from way out there, you have ridiculous visibility from a distance". I also got to come across enemy infil who were stunningly visible in our battles. There is, quite literally, no reason for dark light in the game any longer. I'm angry they somehow suckered another 13 bucks out of me. They've finally put the game past the point of no return for my playstyle. Nice patch, guys.

I've just been looking over the test server feedback forums. The earliest reference to this bug seems to be the 17th of April (last saturday). Now, technically that's too late, since 2.6 was released on the Tuesday and was only recalled due to lag issues, not that the infiltrators had been shot in the foot (almost literally) by a bug such as this.
You may blame the devs, but if nobody says there's a problem on the test server feedback forums, then how are they supposed to know there's a problem? Internal testing cannot cover the variances of graphics settings, cards and drivers to make sure that everyone sees the same thing. That's why there's a playtest, that's why there's a test server. Hell there's 3 QA staff at every playtest, right there, begging you to send them tells if you notice bugs, especially ones as significant as this. Now people may have /bugged it, in which case great but I find it suprising that all hell didn't break loose because of the ease at which snipers were showing up on the test server. I'm not having a go at you personally, just trying to point out that if a bug gets introduced because a patch, and nobody reports it then the dev team can assume that there's nothing severely wrong with the patch, and we had enough playtests for 2.6. Unless of course, it was a bug introduced by a hotfix or the 2.6 lag issue fix, in which case I hope it gets fixed in 2.7. |

A bunch of playtests at 3 in the afternoon doesn't really constitute due diligence. Again, there was no reason for these bugs to pop up unless the devs just tried to do too much. They fix a bug, then go out of their way to tweak something else. Even pieces that are intentional are horrible to infil in this patch. They messed up, again.

Indeed it's a sad state of affairs for the infil
wonder what they were thinking "Hey this sensor shield will make the infil invisable to radar" "You mean like they usually are?" "Yeah, but now they can infiltrate interlink facilities!" "Omg they'll be uber!!!!!!!!" "We better counter act this by strapping some christmas lights and glowsticks to the infil suit!" "So they glow even without darklight be activated?" "Precisely! I am a genious!" Really it's wonderful being able to enter interlink facilities but unless your going into an abandoned base your lucky if you can make it inside without being shot

Obviously the infil has been their lowest priority. It took them a full year from launch to even look at the bugs that have plagued us, and then when they finally do take a long look they make us worse off than we were previously. Again, they either don't get it or they're completely incompetent. Whichever it is at this point isn't even relevant. They've ruined my main joy in the game.

some shit gets nerfed, another empire gets a buff, don't bitch about it just change empires the last thing we need is an entire caste of players to change their roles if the infil is sucky as hell it should be fixed, not eliminated via the steady decline of it's usage
