They are completely different styles and types of games, you cannot directly compare them, so why bother?

Planetside is a FPS wargame with some minor RPG elements.
SWG is a RPG with some very minor FPS elements.

You really can't compare them. They are completely different.

Play both, it all depends on your preference. Like gonnagetyou said, they're two totally different types of games.

I'm tempted to say it's a different game, can't be compared, etc. S'what I usually say. Anyway:

1. You can log in and play with your friends even if you are level 5 and they are level 20.
2. You don't have to "Look for a group" if you don't want to.
3. No penalty for dying.
4. Vehicles are free and widely available.
5. You don't have to wander around in the boondocks fighting swamp rats for god knows how long to scrounge up enough credits to make minor upgrades to your shitty weapon.
6. It's not a life destroying timesink, for all of the above reasons.

What PS has over SWG is what it has over every MMORPG. Namely, that it doesn't require you to enslave yourself to your computer.

PS over SWG?

Well, lets see...

PS is a game where you shoot a guy, and he takes the same amount of damage if you hit.

SWG is a game where you shoot a guy, and a hidden dice rolls somewhere calculating damage done (i think).

here's one. RPG games are cool and all, but whatever game you play, you WILL find yourself coming back to PS again and again.... It's just too addicting to leave forever

well thanks to the one person who responded with what i was hoping to get.

i mean, what makes you prefer planetside to other MMO's???
sure ones more FPS than RPG but he doesn't care, we've had these arguments before, like diablo or halo... i think

hes ruthless, and he's getting all my other friends to gang up with him
i mean generally, what would you do to get an RPG fanatic to accept PlanetSide???

edit: 'well thanks to the one person who responded with what i was hoping to get.'
not that I don't agree with you.
