Halo 2

I just got a monthly magazine (Game Informer) in the mail yesterday, and its main topic was halo2's multiplayer. The editors got to play the multiplayer and got screens that more or less aren't around the internet. Course my mom takes the digital camera everywhere, so I'll take a pic when she gets back from work.

So I just learned a few things from the mag, I'll type it out (without spelling errors):

With a game like Halo 2, a lot of info gets tossed around. The following is a list of things that have been mentioned by Bungie and are believed to be true or very, very likely.

>>The setting is Earth: What is known about the story so far is that it deals with a Covenant invasion of our planet. However, a second Halo is also Involved so we have a feeling that master Chief will be heading back into space. Bungie has stated that there will be low-gravity environments, so space travel seems even more likely.

>>The Covenant will be playable: Elites will be a playable class in multiplayer. We don�t know if any other Covenant forces are playable, nor do we know if there will be more than one class of human to choose from.

>>There will be more vehicles: The warthog, the Scorpion Tank, and the Ghost are returning, along with some new Rides. There will be several variants of the Warthog for different uses, along with more Covenant vehicles. The Banshee is definitely back, and rumor has it the aliens have added a new tank to their arsenal.

>>Master Chief has new tricks: Dual-wielding is in for certain, and peeking around corners should make it in as well. Destructible environments are also expected to be included.

>> More enemies are headed your way: The Covenant has added at least two new types of warriors: the Brutes and the Prophets. The Brutes are huge, gorilla-esque warriors, while the Prophets are floating psychics who are expected to be more like generals than actual warriors, as they look pretty frail. Word is there may be even more enemies, including a huge beast capable of flipping over a Warthog! Whether this makes it into the final version or not remains to be seen, but it would certainly be pretty sweet.

>>There will be more multiplayer modes: Aside from the typical deathmatch modes of Slayer and Team Slayer, CtF, Assault, Oddball, and King of the Hill will be back for Xbox Live, split-screen, and System Link. Online co-op is also likely.

Some stuff in here is old news, but the rest to me is brand new. They also talk about the three maps they played on and mentioned that some classic maps might also be added (Blood Glutch for instance). Also one map contains a forerunner structure, and the map is a earth environment, so let your mind amaze you.

I read that too :P Halo 2 looks so bad ass! have you seen the live E3 demo of it? O.M.G. That it SOOO fucking realistic and the gameplay is to die for. Damn.

Yea im a subscriber to the mag too and that game looks sooo freakin awesome.Hope they do it right and dont screw anything up

I wish my pc wasn't so frikin slow, I could watch the trailer thingy. When is it comin out?

No way they can screw it up at this point. No way they could have screwed it up from the beginning.

If it was buggy as hell and lagged alot and was too short(prolly wont be but ya never know)

56k and aol, d/led it. 8+ HOURS. It was fucking worth it. I watch it every day.

I want to really see that big ass covenant (the one they said flips warthogs). I mean Hunters were pretty big, they stand pretty tall. Now amagine something bigger.

This is the main reason why I wana buy an Xbox, cause I know later on it would come out on the computer but it wouldn't look as good as that.
