Worth playing?

Greetings,

I have been interested in PlanetSide for quite a while and I've been wanting to try it - I missed the 7-day free trial and I haven't been able to try it out. I'm thinking about buying the game, but before I do, I must ask two things:

1) Is this game worth playing nowadays? I heard both good and bad a while ago about the game when it first came out, but I haven't heard much lately. I do, however, love playing first person shooters and tactical games.
2) And, are there a lot of people playing, or are the worlds pretty much empty most of the time?

Thanks,
Chris.

Sorry. I guess the main focus of my post was the question "Are there a lot of people playing?". I browsed threw a few "Is it worth coming back" threads and I didn't see anything about number of players. I will go back and look for the answer.

PS has gone alot better these past few months and I recommend you in anyway to acquire a copy... Maybe the Mods should make a new thread with people's views about PS, makes life easier for new-comers.

Oh, and incase anyone was wondering, I found a chart showing the number of the current subscriptions for most of the MMO games out there:

Pretty neat if I do say so myself.

Would it be getter to go through the Anniversery Trial (http://planetside.station.sony.com/a...sary/trial.jsp) or just go out to my local Wal-Mart and buy it? Or does it really matter?

I would recommend buying the anniversary trial, but people are having some technical problems with it, so I'm unsure. If you don't like that, just go to eBay and buy it for ~$15.00: At retail prices, it's still $40-50
