Ive posted this on the official forums as well, what do you folks think?
Ok,after having a 6 month break from the game I reactivated my account a couple of weeks ago,and the only complaint I have really is that darklight is too powerful. Admittedly I do play inf a lot and Im very happy with what they have done with the nades and glad they sorted that stupidity with the turrets out, wasnt so happy about the surge nerf though but perhaps we were quite annoying when we were surging around dropping boomers,so fair enough I can live with that. What I have noticed is now that theres a lot more high BR players, every man and his dog has dl and its just toooo dam powerful!Indoors you can just leave it on permanently and have no problems seeing normal grunts or infs, and outside you cant see quite as far but as long as you remember to throw your dl on every once in a while you are gonna be pretty succesful at neutralising any threats from cloakers. My idea is simple,(and may have been suggested before,so appologies if it has),why dont they do the same to dl as they did to surge? It would stop people just wandering around with dl permanently on and would give the inf that extra second to make his escape while the grunt gets out his noob hammer to blow a hole in pesky wabbits back. I dont play inf all the time and I cant see a problem with this at all,you just throw your dl on,locate the cloaker, draw your gun and fire away.Once your firing at the inf hes gonna be on his toes so you shouldnt have much trouble seeing him then anyway, and it would also encourage more teamplay as you could use 1 of your squadmates to keep track of him with the dl whilst u blast away. I am aware of jammers and do use them but I just dont think they are enough. Flame away. |

i like the idea of when you turn it on, its just a purple haze. no walls, no seeing other grunts, no seeing uncloaked cloakers. the only thing you would see with DL on is a cloaked cloaker, nothing more. think of it as your screen going purple...

i look at it this way if you are cloaked then use strategy on finishing your mission. I do hunt people who are cloaked and so should everyone else. It is acat and mouse game. You use stealth to kill, hack into systems and sneak into bases or towers. It is the enemies job to find you and kill you before you or anyone else who is cloaked from doing any damage or causing any deaths. In the end it evens out. I have been killed many times by individuals who have been cloaked and I have killed many who were cloaked. The biggest mistake I see that people who are cloaked do is run when they shouldn't

And Jammer grenades reset implants, which means they're down for a whole minute iirc. |
