Question Unstable Planetside

I just upgraded my motherboard, CPU and RAM from an ECS L7VMM2 (MB), AMD Athalon 2000+ 1.6GHz 266MHzFSB (CPU) and 1 Gb pc2100 (DDR RAM) (2X512Mb) to an Abit NF7-S (MB), AMD Athalon XP 3000+ "Barton" 400MHz FSB (CPU) and 1 Gb (2X512Mb) pc 2700 (DDR RAM). I have an ATI Radeon 9600 PRO 256 Mb (by Saphire). I have the ATI's catalyst version 8-00-040322a-014266c.

All of my games run properly except Planetside. It loads up through the server and character selection. But once loaded in the game, it bombs after approximately 3 seconds.

I contacted SOE and they said to use the newest driver (8-02-040515a-015958c) which I tried. That made my game stable and all, but it somehow removed or badly corrupted my sound drivers for my built on sound card. It also, somehow, killed the drivers to recognize my DVD-R and my CD-RW. I could not see them in My Computer and nothing would auto-load. So I performed a system restore to the settings listed at the beginning. Any ideas??

Did you try removing the drivers, then reinstalling them? Did you do a full scan? Did you try reinstalling PS?
