I'm pretty sure it's one of those pranks that try to scare your brain into throttling itself. I think this one has a prayer being recited really quietly, enough so you need to turn up the volume in order to hear what's supposed to be there. Then, a massive scream (and probably a really scary picture) will knock you out of your chair.
