theres your problem. for smooth running ps,. you will need somewhere between 512 mb and 2 gigs, depending on how big the battles you fight in are.

2 gigs could actually slow down gameplay rather than smooth it. I would go with 768 or 1 gig.

I have a P4 2.53, 512 MB memory, and a healthy amount of virtual memory (2 gigs minimum). I'm also running a 9700 Pro with the latest drivers. I ping between 45 and 55 when I sign onto the East server, yet whenever I get into the game it's like slow motion most of the time. Before anyone says anything, I've adjusted all of my video settings to low and disable triple buffering but to no avail.

So what the heck is going on? Is it just a crappy service or am I living in the twilight zone? I personally just think that it's Sony because EQ wasn't the greatest experince in the lag department either, but it was very playable. This, however, is entirely too frustrating to begin to pay 12.99 a month for. Every other online game I've played that hasn't been a Sony product worked just fine.

Any other suggestions?

upgrade to 1gb of ram, planetside is very ram intensive.

Also, youre pagefile is actually too high, should have it set to double the amount of ram you have for maximum and minimum, too much will cause problems.

Misc Info

Never put your page file that high it just encorages Windows to use it more, and that hurst gameplay alot. set our Max and min pagefile settings to 1024, or 1536, not more than that
