I just watched these 2 stupid trailers
http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/paparazzi/ http://www.apple.com/trailers/touchs...onal_treasure/ It seems that most movies coming out these days now are based on books or are sequals to more popular films. Or have retarded plots like these films do.

That's the article about the Black in Green Don't get me wrong, I like JAck Black... just, any time you take source material and go far afield it tends to suck. The Mask was OK because the comic it was based on was that zaney (Sometimes, what I wouldn't do for them to do the cop story) Green Lantern is not Zaney. At least the CatWoman film is staying true to Source (somewhat) But then again. Green LAntern is not Zaney. It can have funny moments but all in all it's about a guy given damn near infinte power and told to be a super cop. And I can't even imagine Jack Black in that role. Not to mention that they are making the FF as a comedy as well. Now tell me the Fantastic four has no following? We'll see With any luck Ghost Rider will be able to wash the bad taste out of my mouth from all the smaller franchise players we've gotten recently

Many comic books just don't have one of the two things necessary to push the idea forward: A large enough following, or a good enough idea. Green Lantern falls into that category. Seriously, it's a stupid concept for a hero. He's got a ring that can make anything, unless he accidentally crosses paths with...the color yellow! If I was a super villain I'd just keep trying to run him down with a school bus. So it has a smaller following and a weak background. Add in the fact that attempting to make this some sort of 'event' picture would take an astronomical budget, and it just makes no sense. So you look at it from a different point of view, an original concept on a genre that's ripe for being made fun of right now. We're lucky enough to have Spider-Man and X-Men in the hands of great directors who get the idea. Personally, I couldn't care less what they do with Green Lantern. If they tried to make it serious, I have large doubts it would interest me. I'll see it with Jack Black in it, though. The fact that it was never zany before doesn't mean they can't do it now. By the way, don't hold your breath on Ghost Rider. That thing has been in pre-production hell so long I doubt it will ever get made. At least Ghost Rider has the strong background story even if it doesn't have the larger appeal, but even that's not enough to get it moving. Super Man just got it's 3rd or 4th director attached to it (I've lost count). This time it's Bryan Singer, though, so the guy knows what he's doing and probably has the clout to push through the BS. Think about that, though. Probably the most recognizable super hero in comic history, a track record of successful films, and they're still having issues getting people on board to do it. If you want to get your hopes up on a film that will be true to the stories in the comics, keep your eyes on the new Batman movie they're making. Very dark looking, they're ignoring the previous Batman films and starting over. Looks good from the tiny bits I've seen of it. |

Superman could be good but it's a hard character to make a good movie about. The only bad thing is with Singer Attached he won't be doing x-men 3 and that's sad. Nah Comic movies are really hit and miss. So we'll see! As for Catwoman. Giving her the Cat power Mojo after dieing is directly from the comics (though it depends on the story line you read) And Halle while the wrong race has the right a) Body b) Hair c) Strut For the part. And while she may suck at acting it's not that hard a role to pull off. Note that Jack Black has none of the above for the Character they are putting him in that's what I was saying about Catwoman... and it as an ATleast comment, meaning as best I can tell the only good thing about it.
