From what I've seen in this film it looks like my 11 year old brother could watch this film and not be the least bit scared
http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/avp/clips/ On the other hand it's a trailer and they are probably not showing the worst of it. The action looks cool. But the violence looks pretty PG-13ish. Although it's good to see the Aliens will be killing some predators. Won't just be predators shooting and slicing and dicing aliens up.

How could anyone had high hopes for this movie. That is like thinking Freddy v Jason was going to rival Casablanca and Citizen Kane. The only reason these movies were created is nobody in Hollywood is original any more.
I can picture the Hollywood "think tank" that brought you these movies: #1 - We need a new movie #2 - We've gone through all the video games and comic books #1 - My eight year old was fighting with his friend about who would win a fight, Batman or Superman. #2 - That's been done already (it really was - it was one of the plot lines ultimately discarded for the new superman movie). #1 - What about Aliens v. Predator? #2 - Well, I was thinking about doing Strawberry Shortcake but that would work too. #1 - What's the plot? #2 - Who cares, we've had Freddy v. Jason and in the last movie Jason went into space. People will buy tickets to see a stick of shit hanging on the ceiling if we market it. #1 - You're right, look a 2 Fast 2 Furious. |

People have been waiting for an alien predator movie for over a decade and a half. Hell they waited a decade for the damn game. This is long time coming and its the combination of two extremely well written scifi series. With the back story for both of these from the movies and all the good storylines created in the comic books this could be a very good movie..... Assuming theyre going to go that route. Maybe those are just the few mindless fight seens between the storyline that theyre using to rake in the kiddies.

To me it still looks pretty sweet but I wish they would have made it R and have some serious scary shit in there. Itd be kinda cool for a marine to be walking and have a face hugger pop out of the floor or something really fast. Thatd make me jump for sure.

No, it's gonna blow. It's not gonna have the "scary" moments of Alien, or the "holy fucking gibbed" stuff from Predator. It's PG-fucking-13, that means alot of that stupid black screen that pops up right before some motherfucker gets speared in the face, or headpopped.

Haven't you played the game? A super strong (but slightly slower) Pred-Alien
Edit: Just watched the clips, meh. I'm pretty sure the aliens are faster than that, and wouldn't be able to handle getting their head smashed through 5 bigass stone columns
