Computer Performance Tweaks: Eliminated Planetside Stutter for me.

So, I found this tweak. I decided what the hell, so now my studder is gone in planetside. Less cache, less swapping, more cpu for other shit.

article :

Here are a couple of performance tweaks for users who have more than 512Mb RAM.

Launch Folder Windows in a separate Process:

- Open My Computer -> Tools -> Folder Options
- Check the box "Launch folder windows in a separate process"

Force Windows Core to Memory:

- Open Start -> Run and type "Regedit"
- Navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\ Control\ Session Manager\ Memory Management"
- Modify "DisablePagingExecutive" to "1"
- Reboot will be needed to take effect.

Got it from this page http://v2.tlab404.com/articles/top10.asp

Also, if you have xp pro, check this link out, it will make your interweb go 20% faster:

"1.DisablePagingExecutive -double click it and in the decimal put a 1 - this allows XP to keep data in memory now instead of paging sections of ram to harddrive yeilds faster performance."

also this was suggested in one of those articles as well:

""
2.LargeSystemCache- double click it and change the decimal to 1 -this allows XP Kernal to Run in memory improves system performance alot"

Meh, tried that, didn't notice anything. Load the Sanctuary, hit W to move...

Planetside Freezes.

I reboot five times, and it freezes each time.

Any idea why? I got rid of the "tweaks" and it works fine now...

Killed XP on startup after reboot so I changed it back. The other two settings are still in place and the improvement remains the same

Question: Does this effect the computer itself, or just Planetside?
and Which one (link) should I use to get rid of stutter?

The reason for me asking is that I've been having stutter in a lot of my games. In Counter Strike, it would stutter a little. In Planetside the stutter becomes more noticable, in Doom 3 the stutter makes the game near impossible to play.
