Fight Preference

I, myself, prefer small fights. being the owner of a non-fantastic machine, I enjoy being able to properly see what Im aiming for. That, and the tug-of-wars that the small fights have amuse me to no end.

The best fights are those which are small enough that you feel that you're making a difference, but large enough that you feel you're part of a war, and that is what Planetside (at least in my opinion) is all about.

Both big and medium are good. For medium, I tend to plunge into the battle close-range or infiltrate if I'm playing my infil. For big battles (particularly on Ascention), I just hang back and Cycler snipe.

I have a great machine, but I prefer small fights simply because its a lot easier to focus on your targets and watch your back. One thing that bugs me about large fights is they are always crawling with enemy infils, aircraft and battle tanks that will tear you to bits if you let guard down or get distracted. A small fight, you pretty much just have to worry about your target and a few of his buddies.

I had to vote medium because I like the massive battles as well as small battles. Big battles because, well, it's just fun to sit back on a hill, sniping, and watching walls of bullets and rockets just flying everywhere, not to mention the kills you can rack up with the overabundance of targets. Small battles are fun because of the shit talking and hate tells when you kill the same person like 5 times in a row.

Big for the serious win.

The first day that the Battle Islands were live, and the TR were getting kicked to the ground by both VS and NC on the islands, and were down to one base. This base was the base in the top left on Desolation (I think - the one with lots of bridges).

Anyway, as only one entrance is available for entry (the other is right next to a cliff edge, making assaults on it nigh on impossible,) we simply had to defend 2 sides of the base from the NC zerg. The base sits away from the trees, and as such there is a giant field between cover and the base, this made for some great fighting. The TR had 150+ defending, and the NC had the same amounf attacking (with Libs too - they had the island with all the tech plants..).

Best battle EVAR.

It lasted over 1 and a half hours, and I ot 100+ kills. The TR drove the NC off in the end, and went on to take Desolation (after 8+ hours).

As Dhark once said:

moar bigger = better = ... better

I like all sizes at different times, but small battles are the ones where tactics CAN be used and it gets personal because you recognize the persons you're fighting. Medium and large are good too because there's so much going on but sniper on sniper battles in huge fights are interesting as well.

i'm crossed between really big and really small fights myself. I have a lot of fun defending our locked conts with maybe 10 of us and a squad or two of attackers. but i have a lot of fun also with large full scale assaults, taking inside of bases is great. grab a maelstrom, get some 30+ kills on die about 10 times, read my hate tells, and get my points. My k/d ratio goes to hell for some reason in the medeum sized fights. I tried sniping, but i really lack the patience.

Small, no doubt.

I would like to go one on one, or one on two with people

Not just zerg runs into each other, get hit by 200 friendlys and get instagib by 30 HA weapons. I like to kill things. Thats impossible if everyone is "assisting" each other. It not even orgianized, its SHOOT THROUGH THE GREEN NAMES TO GET TO THE RED NAMES.

Plus, I dont like to have my respawn up to 45 minutes.

Nice small fights, enough so I can pick targets and not get owned by a friendly, or have my target owned by someone else.

I like huge rifles because I love to snipe. It's lots of fun to find a nice spot that over looks a wall from an odd angle that people don't expect you from and is hard to get too, then clear the wall of the enemy snipers who were pinning down your guys. What's really is when your sniping a guy on the run and accidently hit a cloaker who was in the exact spot you fired. Great fun. Great hate tells.
I also really like the sniper v sniper battles cause i normally win
