Are there any trials for this game?

Hey i've just me lioking for a new MMO to play after leaving EVE due to somewhat boring and repetitve combat and was looking for something new, a friend of mine says he used to play Planetside and said it was great, he stopped playing cause he went to colleage.
Ne way he said there should be some sort of trial thing avaible somewhere but i am having trouble finding one, i already have the game installed as i got the cd's from my friend, it's just pretty bad that the only trial i could find was closed on fileplanet.
If ne1 can help me find a web-site on where to find one it would be greatly appreciated.

I already checked that you have to pay for it for some reason at 2 dollars less and i want to at least try it before i pay for it, i found a buddy trial thing but someone who subscribes has to do it for me and i don't know ne1.

Also, I have created a simple program.
It's a tweaked version of the patcher with an installer.

Given an account, it allows someone to download PlanetSide DIRECT from the SOE patch server.
